Reiki Attunement Preparation Guidelines
This is a special experience and as such there are certain things that you can do to prepare yourself for it. After the attunement you will go through a 21 day cleansing cycle which will rid your body of toxins and imbalances, so preparing for the attunement will help you both during it and afterwards.
Although the attunement will work fine without this reiki attunement preparation it is something that you may want to do. It is something that I have done in the past when receiving attunements and I still do a version of before providing an attunement.
For seven days before the attunement it is useful to minimise your caffine intake for example in tea, coffee, cola and caffinated drinks.
At this stage you may also want to cut down on sugars eg sweets and chocolate.
If you smoke you could cut down nicotine.
Although I wouldn’t recommend cutting down on anything too quickly in case of withdrawal effects.
For three to four days before the attunements it is useful to moderate your alcohol intake. I cannot and will not attune anyone who has been drinking alcohol on the day of the attunement or who I feel is still intoxicated from the night before.
For two days before the attunement it is useful to give up eating meat and fish.
You may like to eat only raw vegetables and salads on the day of attunement.
You may like to drink only water, fruit juice or herbal teas on the day of attunement.
It is also a time to stay calm, take walks, meditate, refrain from watching violent movies etc.
Of course you don’t have to do any of the above, the choice is yours. This is just a detox which will help during the cleansing cycle. Intention is a large part of Reiki and as long as your intention is right you will be fine.
